YouMap is a social platform where you post to a place instead of to a feed. Every photo, review, tip or event lands on a map, so what people share stays useful long after it's posted.

A YouMap is a themed map you own — Tokyo coffee, surf spots in Bali, murals in your city. Anything you or your collaborators post appears on it as a pin, and anyone exploring the map can filter down to exactly what they're looking for.

Tap + and describe the map you want — “best ramen in Warsaw”, “our 2026 road trip”. YouMap drafts it for you: name, cover, categories and the post fields that fit the subject.

Accept the draft and start posting, or build the map yourself and set every piece by hand. Either way it takes about a minute, and nothing is locked in — you can change any of it later.

Photos and video, a short write-up, ratings, links, opening hours, prices, audio notes — a post carries whatever the map needs. Every post is anchored to a location and inherits the fields of its post type, so a surf spot can hold wave height and conditions while a restaurant holds price range and a menu link.

A post type is a template for the information a post collects — which fields appear, in what order, and which are required.

Pick “Restaurant” and everyone posting to your map fills the same fields: cuisine, price, rating, photos. That consistency is what makes a map searchable and filterable instead of a pile of pins. Use one of the ready-made templates, duplicate and tweak it, or describe the type you need and have it built for you.

Name, cover, description, map style and colours, the pin icons your posts use, the categories they fall into, the filters visitors see, and which post types are allowed on the map.

Owners change all of it from Map settings at any time, and existing posts adapt to the change rather than breaking.

Follow a map to get its new posts in your feed, or follow a creator to see everything they publish. Anything you save sits in your library, ready for the next trip.

You choose per map: public so anyone can find and view it, unlisted so only people with the link can, or private so it stays between you and the people you invite.

Posts follow the map's setting, and you can hide or delete any of them at any time. On maps where privacy matters, exact locations can be softened so a pin shows the area rather than the doorstep.

Invite people as collaborators and they can post to your map, or open the map up so anyone following it can contribute.

You keep control either way: review posts before they go live, edit or remove anything, and decide who is allowed to add what.

You hear about it when someone posts to a map you follow or own, when your posts get comments or reactions, and when someone invites you to collaborate.

All of it is adjustable per map and per type in Settings, so a busy map never takes over your phone.

Every map has a share link that opens in a browser without an app install, so you can send it to anyone.

To put a map on your own site, copy the embed code from Map settings and paste it in. The embed stays live — new posts show up there as they arrive.
