Lookout Mountain is one of the rare spots where you can watch the sun set over the mountains while the city lights begin to appear in the valley below you simultaneously. The best viewpoint is the rock outcropping just below the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave site. The Chimney Gulch and Lookout Mountain trails provide proper hiking routes for those who want to earn the view. In winter after snowfall, the road and trails are excellent for snowshoeing.
