Over 350 bird species have been recorded at Barr Lake, more than almost any comparable site in Colorado. An 8.8-mile multi-use trail circles the entire lake, passing wildlife viewing stations and a lakeside gazebo where you can sit and watch without moving. The Nature Center has bird lists, binoculars available to borrow, on-site naturalist staff, and displays about the park's wildlife. For photographers, the combination of cottonwood reflections and waterbird activity in the early morning is remarkable. Pic: Colorado Parks and Wildlife
