Brilliant Venus sweeps past ice giant Uranus in Taurus around March 9–11. Venus blazes at mag -4.0 while Uranus sits at mag 5.8 — just barely naked-eye but easy in binoculars. Use Venus as a guide: point binoculars at it and look for a tiny blue-green dot within the same field. Venus passes within ~1–2 degrees — the easiest chance of the year to spot Uranus.
