Venus and Saturn appear just 1 degree apart in the western sky after sunset on March 7–8. Venus blazes brilliantly at magnitude -4.0 while Saturn sits a finger-width to its south at +1.2. Both fit in a binocular field of view. Look west-northwest 30–45 minutes after sunset for this rare planetary pairing. Venus is climbing higher each evening while Saturn slowly fades into twilight.
